Safari Overview

4 days of amazing desert landscapes. This safari departs from Windhoek every Tuesday and returns to Windhoek Friday afternoons. Accommodation is clean, comfortable and well located lodges, and Hotels. Ideal for those with limited time, who want to combine a visit to the Sossusvlei and Swakopmund.

Day 1 –Tuesday: Windhoek- Sossusvlei 

Main Destination: Sossusvlei

Accommodation: Weltevrede Guest farm Camping 

Meals: Lunch & Dinner

We will depart around 8.30am straight on the way south to world-famous Sossusvlei via picturesque Spreetshoogte Pass. We will then have a Stop-over at the view point to appreciate endless view of the Namib. Our lunch at the Solitaire oasis. Arrival at the lodge or campsite around 3-4 pm in the afternoon. We will check in our lodge and spend few hours before sunset by the pool. Tomorrow will be a long day, early sleep after dinner is highly recommended. 

Day 2 –Wednesday: Sossusvlei 

Main Destination: Sossusvlei

Accommodation: Weltevrede Guest farm Camping 

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Early in the morning, at sunrise, we will visit the Sesriem Gate to the remarkable Sossusvlei. We start off with climbing picturesque Dune 45, experiencing beauty and vastness of the Orange-colored landscape. Off-road drive to the Dead Vlei, a place of Vast desert pan where dried-up, ancient acacias stand silent in the impressive, open-air gallery. If you have enough energy, you can climb one of the highest dunes on Earth, the ‚Big Daddy ‘or ‚Big Mama. After the morning excursion, we will return back to Sesriem for lunch. We will take a break for 1-2 hours. Once the heat subsides, we will take a short excursion to Sesriem Canyon. This will be our last activities for the day.

Day 3 –Thursday: Swakopmund

Main Destination: Swakopmund

Accommodation: Tiger Reef Camp Site

Meals: Breakfast &Lunch 

Namibia is a country of contrasts. Today we will move from desert to sea. On our way we will cross the Tropic of Capricorn and traverse the Gaub and the Kuiseb passes, driving down to the dry river bed at the bottom of the Kuiseb Canyon before climbing up the other side and watching the spectacular desert landscape unfold before us. Having arrived at the coast, we will make a stop in Walvis Bay to enjoy the view of flamingos and other birds in the lagoons. We will take a short break for lunch. We overnight in Swakopmund. Dinner tonight is at the client's own expense in a local restaurant.

Day 4 –Friday: Swakopmund-Windhoek

Main Destination: Windhoek

Accommodation: Not included

Meals: Breakfast &Lunch 

Drive 450km travelling on the main road through farmland and small towns, time to stop in Okahandja at carving market. Arrive in the city in afternoon Thank you for your support.
